Yatra - A Journey on the Path...
From birth to death our inner being is at the mercy of
two opposing forces. Often we are flung into different directions but
a balanced mind can hold ground and acquire a balance in life by cultivating
the practice of equanimity. One who is on Yatra - A journey on the Path
of perfection slowly sees the pull and push of these forces.
Here the artist portrays various aspects of the powerful
emotions in each these paintings. Vivid colours (and style) are used symbolically
to express a certain feeling. Just as softer tones are used to express
lighter levels, darker ones are used to depict negative feelings. The
heavy, oppressive colours fade away and are replaced by lighter sahdes,
ultimately reaching the goal of perfection (or purity) represented by
blue and white colours. The strongest emotions of craving and aversion,
passion and ego are represented by red, green brown and dark colours.
